
Steel structures in Power Plant Enel in Porto Tolle (Rovigo) - 2008/2011

Three steel structures 93 m high with the total weight of about 8.000 ton each. FEA calculation model in 3D with dynamic seismic analysis according to the new seismic Italian code NTC2008. Calculation of the all welded and bolted joints done with my Excel sheets as for Eurocode 3-8. Design of main and secondary steel structure (till handrails and stairs).
It is one of the most important structure I designed for dimensions, complexity and for the many interfaces between steel structure and equipment based on input given by other companies.
Optimization of the steel structure to reduce weight as possible and simplify joints and details.
In this job I had the responsibility to manage a team of three engineer and drafters to reach the goal of the quality of drawings and documentation in request time. Direct relationship with the costumer and Enel. The design work has continued in years 2009, 2010 and 2011.
